Payroll

Payroll that works out the month from the days people actually worked

Monthly, daily and hourly staff. Attendance and overtime on a calendar. Allowances, contributions and deductions, each on its own account. Arrears, leave and final settlement, all in the same books as everything else.

Two ways to run it

Start simple, switch to full payroll when you need it

Every company starts with simple payroll. An admin can switch to full payroll once. It applies from the current month onward, and earlier months stay as they were.

Simple payroll · every plan

One row per employee: name and amount, filled in from last month. Post it and the salary expense and bank payment are booked. Employee advances and their recovery are included.

Full payroll · Business and above

Monthly, daily and hourly pay, attendance and overtime registers, salary elements, leave types, arrears, leave encashment and final settlement, with payslips and an element register.

Attendance and overtime

Mark the days, and the run does the arithmetic

Attendance is a calendar, one row per person. Present, absent or on leave for monthly and daily staff; hours for hourly staff; overtime on its own grid. The run reads the totals, so pay always matches the register.

  • Weekly days off and public holidays are locked, so nobody is marked absent on a holiday
  • Overtime is paid at each person's rate times the multiple you set, within a daily cap
  • Paid days lock. Unlock one to correct it and it shows as pending until it is settled
  • Days outside someone's employment are refused, naming the person and the day

Salary elements

Every allowance and deduction, set up once, on its own account

Describe each element once and map it to the employee groups it applies to. Its accounts are created for you, so a provident fund or pension contribution shows in the ledger under its own name.

  • Three kinds: allowances paid with the salary, employer contributions, and deductions from take-home pay
  • A fixed amount, a percentage of basic, or a per-person amount such as income tax
  • Decide whether an allowance is cut for unpaid days, and whether a contribution is due by days worked or only for a full month
  • Elements apply by employee group, so different staff can carry different packages

Corrections, leave and leavers, without a manual journal

Arrears

Correct a paid month upwards and the next run offers only the difference, as a separate arrears payment.

Over-payments

Correct it downwards and the over-payment becomes a recovery line on that person's next run, which an admin confirms.

Leave encashment

Each leave type has its own yearly cycle. If your policy pays unused leave out, a finished cycle is paid once and never twice.

Final settlement

Set a leaving date and the settlement works out unpaid days, leave owed either way and the advance still open.

Reports and control

Payslips, registers and who gets to see pay

Payslips

A PDF payslip per person per run, listing earnings, allowances and deductions. Available with full payroll.

Registers

A payment register of salaries and advances, an element register, and a statement of each person's advances, all with PDF and Excel.

Pay stays private

Pay figures are visible only to people given a payroll screen. Approvals, if switched on, hold a run until it is approved.

Cost by project

With project costing on, each run's salary cost is split across projects, and Construction counts it as labour on each contract.

Payroll questions

Frequently asked

No. There are no built-in tax tables. You enter each person's tax amount, and the run deducts it and posts it to the income tax payable account. The same goes for statutory contributions: you set them up as elements with your own rates.

Not today. It doesn't produce bank salary transfer files such as WPS, and it doesn't file statutory returns. It isn't localised for Gulf social insurance either. It keeps the payroll and its accounting; payments and filings are made outside it.

No. Payroll runs in the company's base currency only.

No. The switch is made once and applies from that month onward. Leave already taken before the switch can be entered as an opening balance, so encashment and settlement are worked out correctly.

No. Someone already paid for a month can only receive the arrears the system works out. A second payment is possible only when you add the person on purpose, and a run waiting for approval blocks another for the same people and month.
